Item Number: TET 05-0003
Manufacturer: CGM-AST
In response to the high demand for lower cost swing-out door security tools, CGM has announced the introduction of the NAVABLOCK. The NAVABLOCK is a theft deterrent device that serves as a barrier to unauthorized entry into trailer and containers with swing-out doors. It can be used as a one-time throw away seal or as a lockable tool with a unique seal for re-application. The protocol for use as one time component employs a numbered locking bolt along with a C-01 cable seal. The cable connects the device to the standard handle seal hole so as not to change the normal behavior of checking that area for a seal number. The reusable locking version can employ its own special steel lock and cable so that each shipment is still protected and uniquely marked for inspection. The device is made of zinc coated steel so as not to be noticeable on trailers or containers. The NAVABLOCK was patented in the US (United States Patent 5,775,747 Navarsky - July 7, 1998) and Europe by Victor Navarsky but has not been introduced to the public until now. This steel made device cannot be removed with a pry bar or bolt cutters. It fits tightly on most container or trailer swing door right handles, thereby eliminating the possibility of opening the doors while it is in place. The NAVABLOCK has two components plus a locking bushing and cable seal. The NAVABLOCK installs in less than 30 seconds. The device disables the right hand keeper bar from turning. This eliminates the ability of the thief to surreptitiously gain access. Standard manipulation techniques such as drilling the handle pin are completely eliminated as the NAVABLOCK covers the bolt. The ends of the device can not be extracted without cutting the door or keeper bar completely off the trailer.
